HOW PDR WORKS

In the video below I'm removing a hail dent from a Honda roof . It's a little larger than a quarter and not too deep, but there are a couple of sharp spots.

You're seeing the same view I am as I remove the dent. There is a light with one white and one yellow horizontal line about 5 feet in front of me and it's casting it's light towards me onto the top of the hood, magnifying the dent. Shadows are low spots, and brighter areas are high. I must bring up the lows and tap down the highs. As I work my head is above the hood about 2 feet and I'm looking into the dent, and my hands are under the hood maneuvering and pushing the tool. When the light reflection is all consistent I am done.

I get many calls asking me if I can "pop" out a dent for them. Dents don't really pop because the metal these days is too thin. Imagine this,---in a dent as small as a dime I may have to push up 20 to 50 times with a very sharp tool, each push in a different spot. It's like micro-surgery!​
